Clothes the Circle

projects

The textile industry is the second-polluting industry in the world. To make the textile sector more sustainable and move along towards a circular economy, companies need to look beyond their own sustainability strategy and start collaborating with other chain players. That is the vision of the Clothes the Circle network, which brings different parties together. Thus, the network ensures that textile companies can find each other to make relevant connections and enter into new collaborations. The ambition? A fully circular textile industry. And to make as big a fist as possible with that industry so that consumers actually buy circular fashion.

Clothes the Circle is a network of textile entrepreneurs involved in the value chain of post-consumer textile waste. That is, textile waste created after a product is discarded by the end user. The network works concretely to reduce the amount of textile waste by setting up collaborations between chain players. In this way, discarded textiles can be transformed into fibres for new textiles or into raw materials for other product chains. So is a company left with material? Through the Clothes the Circle network, companies in need of this surplus can find each other. Or companies working with the same type of fabric combine their operations to avoid waste.
