Cooperation with value chain partners is key, say experts in sustainable chemicals. Transparency has shown to be an essential stepping stone to reach business goals in a responsible way – whether you are a small or large enterprise. “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”, according to Elsbeth Roelofs, CSR Netherlands, organiser of the event on transparency in the chemical sector on December, 15 in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Behaving responsibly while doing business abroad, better known as international CSR (or ICSR), has yet to come to adulthood in the chemical sector. Being transparent – not so much about your product formulas or margins, but about your societal and environmental impact as well as your financial results, is an interesting way to show and develop self discipline in this respect. And it may get you further in business life: transparency pays off. The Dutch sustainable business network ‘MVO Nederland’ (CSR Netherlands), uniting over 2300 companies and organisations organised the international event ‘Transparency and what it means for sustainable chemicals’ on December, 15 in Utrecht. Together with the Index Initiative, known of the Access to Medicine Index and Access to Seeds Index, they welcomed some 50 participants.
Keep up with our activities in the ICSR Network Chemical Sector (in Dutch).
